Being a slow reader does not mean you cannot improve in Verbal Reasoning.
The section does not require you to read every passage word for word at maximum speed.
It rewards finding useful information efficiently.
Start by reading with a purpose. Use the question to identify what you need.
Look for names, dates, unusual words and topic anchors.
When you find the right area, read that sentence and the surrounding context carefully.
Do not try to memorise the whole passage.
You can also practise scanning outside UCAT questions. Take short articles and try to locate specific facts quickly.
Slow readers often improve most when they stop trying to become fast readers and start becoming better searchers.
Accuracy still matters. The goal is controlled speed, not frantic skimming.
