Running out of time is one of the most common UCAT problems.
The solution starts before test day.
You need to practise making decisions about time, not just answering questions.
If a question is clearly taking too long, move on. Protect the rest of the section.
Do not let one difficult puzzle or calculation become a personal battle.
You should also know which question types are naturally slower for you. That helps you recognise when a question is becoming a time sink.
Practise timed sets where your goal is not only accuracy, but finishing with control.
At the end of each set, review where the time went.
Time management improves when you stop treating every question as if it deserves exactly the same amount of attention.
Some marks are cheaper than others.
Take the easy ones efficiently, work sensibly on the medium ones and avoid sacrificing the whole section for the hardest ones.
