UCAT score comparison is everywhere.
Friends compare mocks. Online forums post huge scores. Social media makes it look as if everyone else is improving faster than you.
The problem is that you rarely know the full context.
You do not know how long someone has been preparing, which resource they used or whether they only posted their best result.
Comparison can also distort your revision. You may start chasing someone else’s strategy instead of fixing your own weaknesses.
A better benchmark is your own recent performance.
Are you more accurate than two weeks ago?
Are you faster on your weak question types?
Are you making fewer repeated errors?
Those are useful comparisons.
Other students’ scores cannot answer your next UCAT question for you.
Your preparation should be built around your data, not someone else’s highlight reel.
