How to Balance UCAT Revision With School and A Levels

Balancing UCAT preparation with school can feel like trying to fit another subject into an already full timetable.

The solution is not to study every free minute.

It is to make your UCAT work focused.

Short, regular sessions are often easier to manage than huge weekend marathons. A 40-minute targeted session after school can be enough if you know exactly what you are working on.

Try planning your week rather than deciding each day from scratch.

For example, you might do Verbal Reasoning on Monday, QR on Wednesday and Decision Making at the weekend, with a short SJT session somewhere in between.

Keep your hardest UCAT work away from your most exhausting school days if possible.

You should also protect sleep. Sacrificing sleep for revision can damage both UCAT performance and school performance.

If exams or coursework become intense, reduce your UCAT workload temporarily rather than abandoning everything.

The goal is sustainable preparation.

You do not need to “win” every day. You need to keep moving over several weeks.
